30 Day Hetalia Meme Day 24 - And Fan Cards! :D
That's right. I've joined the bandwagon.... and might be staying up all night to get as many done as I can before I have to ship them off tomorrow ('s what I get for being a last-minute Jane as my grandma would say it).
But before I share what cards I've made so far, the meme!
Prussia. :D
Rushed drawing is rushed. D: and I realized I draw his hair in almost the same way I draw England's hair. Orz.
To be perfectly honest, it's his War of Austrian Succession outfit that has me drawing him for this meme. XD I like America's uniform too though; partially because it seems so casual/comfortable. Or maybe that's just the American in me speaking... or the bomber jacket. It looks warm. :3
And now for the flood of fan cards! (I've made six so far, and I started last night.)
First up is Russia. Just 'cause it was the first character I could come up with to make a card for, and also because I'm aiming to make a card for each of the Axis ans Allied powers
I'll admit I was lazy on this one and used an old chibi drawing I did a few months ago. >.>; what? I like that drawing - but the original was too big/too cute to give up... thankfully I scanned it and colored it in Photoshop before completing it in colored pencil. >3 And the Cyrillic in the corner is probably wrong (I know I missed one character, and tried to scribble it in above where it's supposed to be, which is what the black scribble up there is for.)
The sunflower is cut out from a printed photo that I took in Japan last year.
Next up, Italia~!
PASTAAAA~! <3 the hand is horrible though.... =A=; Another recycled drawing - the last recycled drawing out of these cards hopefully. ^^; but to be fair, this one was an unfinished sketch that I finally was able to find a purpose for. c:
Number three: Japan!
(I hope I got the kanji right orz)
The photo in the background is a printed copy (from my printer) of the old City Hall building in Takayama, Japan - taken while I was on my trip last summer.
The big one, and the one I think I'm the most proud of apart from the next two.... Germany.
Appropriately miffed Germany is appropriately miffed. I hope FUNi doesn't throw this one out/reject it though because of his expression. ;.;
And for some reason I also scanned the back with my little message; it's a long shot but maybe it might give FUNi something to think about, if they even read these. I don't know why I wrote it the way I did - I almost felt inspired to write all of it down.
Alright, since I doubt anyone can read my chicken scratch at such a small resolution, here's what I wrote beyond the "why I'm excited for the DVD release" section.
"Germany's portrayal in both the manga/webcomic and the Japanese version of the anime (not sure I can say the same about the dub, sadly) is a very refreshing break from the normal perceptions [might change that later to a word that makes a little more sense] of Germans in the media. Rather than a heartless monster, he [Hetalia!Germany] has his positive traits and his negative. That's one of Hetalia's charms I believe, actually. And that, I think, is part of why Germany's character has captured the hearts of so many fans."
.... yeah, I don't know what came over me either. And I might edit some of the rough spots before sending it - I did write it in pencil, after all.
Number five: America
I poured a lot of time and shiny stickers and patriotism in this one. XD The pose was kyarrichan 's idea. She also suggested I draw an Air Force plane taking off, but I fail at drawing planes. D:
And the newest one I've made so far, Thailand.
(And yes, the photo background for this one was from my trip too - Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Bangkok, Thailand)
I think I drew his hands a little weird. D:
... I had to. I just had to. XD Although I think I should've picked a different picture, there weren't too terribly many in my pics from the Thailand part of the trip that screamed "This is Thailand!"
I didn't attempt writing in the Thai alphabet on this one - mainly because I was so terrified of screwing up and it's such a complicated script otl. Almost tempted to upload this one on dA.
And that's all I've got for now, folks! Time to work on some more until I can't work no more! ...I might attempt an all-nighter, I might not. If I do I know I'll have heck to pay in the morning from Dad. Also debating on whether I should upload these on the main comm or not...
