(no subject)
I havent posted much lately, so i figured id give an update since this last weekend was a blast.
alright, well. maybe we should do things in order.
1st. i passed physics 2102. woo!
then, 2 weeks ago, went to nola to see kevin devine and Jesse Lacey (the lead singer from brand new). It was a good show. very acoustic, unplugged vibe. it felt like being back at the legion hall since it was in the Parish at the HOB (they're small venue). I enjoyed Kevin Devine even though id only heard snippets of his music before from mel. I really enjoyed jesse lacey. he's such a hotty :-P and his voice is great. i just cant get enough. i forget all the songs he played because im not good with titles, but he played sowing season as his closer. ill edit this and put in the other ones when i can listen to them. i took a few pictures and videos of the show but my camera was set on like 7 sec video mode so that was aggravating. but that was that.
next big event, was going to laffy with mel, derek, chris, and peter. of course nite town was packed by the time we got there cause we didnt leave early enough, but we eventually ended up at V Bar (the V supposedly stands for Vodka... yea sure). It was good enough, reminds me of Rasputin. not many people, but mel and derek had wrist bands and i dont think they cared too much that they were sharing with us underagers. so we sat around and drank, then danced to some terrible dj'ing, then went outside for them to smoke, and that was the night.
on friday, trezlynn came over to spend the weekend. she also brought piper, her dog. so damien tried making friends, but unfortunately piper doesnt like other dogs :( but she loves cats. so piper would get excited and friendly with the cat and damien would get excited and want to play with piper but she wouldnt have it. and it just ended up with damien barking and piper nipping and chasing him. as for us people we just chilled friday night. went to on the border for some food and margaritas and then went back to the apt. to play mel's wii. saturday we also did a bunch of nothing and went to the balloon festival since mel had bands to get into the Cox tent. so we got some free food and drinks and ice cream and watched the balloon glow and the "black daggers" then went home to celebrate sean's moving away. that included a great bit of debauchery and midnight swimming... and a bit of skinny dipping. hehehe. but by the time we got out of the pool everyone was exhausted and ready to go home. on sunday, we recovered and went to see trezlynn's old house out in dutchtown. its crazy to see it still up and how things around have changed (but not much). after that she left and that was the end of our weekend of fun.
tonight im going to the hob with peter, mel, james, and nancy to see ben kweller. yes the guy that did "i am wasted but im ready" a million years ago. hopefully we'll get their in time for a good spot since peter has work til 6 and the show starts at 7 :(
and on a final note, im reading harry potter. almost done. and im so anxious!! it's so good.
