(no subject)
So! Anime North was a total success! It was really fun and I spent way too much money. XD We spent most of our time in the dealer's room, sitting outside and then watching random anime series in one of the viewing rooms. I wanted to stick around for Anime Hell but it wasn't starting until 8pm and by the time it was about 6pm, I was already so freaking sore that I couldn't sit around in those stiff dining room chairs anymore. I needed to just get home and relax.
Anyway, stuff that I bought! I ended up getting the last two Evangelion: Angel Chromosome-XX figures that I needed to complete my series. I knew that one of them was out there (Arael-XX) but I had absolutely no idea that Shamshel-XX even existed. o_O And now that I'm looking into it online, I'm seeing that they have an additional series of super-deformed figures called XXnano. XD Holy shit, I want those too! They're so cute. They didn't have any at the convention or else I would have snatched them up instantly.
I also bought the Revoltech figure for Ayanami Rei to go with the Asuka one that I bought a couple weeks ago. X3
I also bought the Figma figure for Suzumiya Haruhi. I really love these fully articulated figures and it's no surprise that Figmas are done by Kaiyodo. Kaiyodo did the Trigun figures a while back and I still can't get over how awesome they are. The Haruhi figure is pretty much the exact same thing but it's branded under Figma. I was looking for Yuki too... one place did have her but by the time I went back to get it, she had already been sold. Too bad, but I'm sure it won't be too difficult to find her in the future.
The last figure (or rather the first one that I actually bought) was the blood elf rogue figure from World of Warcraft. The next series of figures is coming out soon and I've been wanting to get the rogue and orc shaman for quite some time now. I looked for the orc shaman but the only figures I could find were the belf rogue and dwarf warrior. I didn't bother getting the warrior though, he looks kind of boring. :P I'm also not entirely sure that I really like how the sculpt for the blood elf's face turned out. It's a lot longer than the pictures show but it's still a really cool figure anyway.
After all the figures, I ended up splurging on some manga. I couldn't resist buying them at US cover price, since most series are still marked up in book stores. I finally bought Earthian 3 and 4, as I've been holding off for a very long time due to being overpriced. -_- Both volumes are still marked up in stores at $20 when the US cover price is $15 for both. Sigh. But at least now I have them and I can finally finish reading the series. XD
I also bought Inuyasha 26 and 29. A couple weeks ago, I ended up buying everything I needed to get caught up on the series from volume 25. I wasn't able to find 26 or 29 when I did and figured I'd just pick them up later. So I did. XD I also bought Fullmetal Alchemist 11 and 12, Nana 4 and How to Read Death Note (13). I still have to actually finish buying the rest of Death Note but I've been looking at this fanbook for a while and figured I'd just pick it up while it was cheaper. XD Maybe next time I go shopping for manga and have enough cash, I'll just pick up the last 5 volumes that I need to complete the series.
And last but not least, I bought a lot of doujin. XD I got 2 Suzumiya Haruhi, 3 One Piece, 1 Phoenix Wright and 2 Lucky Star. I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to pick up the Phoenix Wright one that I originally wanted but again, it was sold out by the time I came back. The one I did pick up isn't smutty at all and neither is one of the One Piece books but the rest? Oh yeah. XD Let's just say that I spent far too much on porn. >_>;;;;
And that's it! Well, I bought 6 pins for $5 and they're really cute. Three of them have emoticons on them (XD, =3, >_<), one of them has the Prince's head from Katamari, one of them has Aang's head from Avatar and the other one is a nice little design of a woman in a kimono. :3 Tres cute.
...and now I shall not buy anything for a very, very long time. -_-
