Cosplaying isn't bad!
On the note of Halloween costumes, I have to say it's pretty interesting how so many non-anime fans think that dressing up as characters is idiotic/stupid/lame/etc.
Interestingly enough, these same people think it's okay to do it for Halloween, but absolutely nothing else. Why the hell can't someone dress up in a costume on any other day of the year? Especially if it's for something like a convention. It's not like these people dress up in full costumes on normal days and walk around town in it. :P
Granted, there are some pretty terrible costumes. I feel a little bad criticizing because some people might put a lot of effort and spirit into making a nice costume, even if it looks horrible... but I guess you can't help but think, "they shouldn't bother for their own sake." ^^; Er... yeah. I just don't get it. :p
