i blog for choice. i have never had to make that decision. i have been the support person and driven a friend to wichita so she could get an abortion. i'm glad i was able to do that for her-she was too young to be a mother.
women don't get "late term" abortions because they are depressed. they are depressed because they've learned that the baby has a severe defect that would make quality of life nil, or wouldn't have survived more than a few days. it is a tough decision to make. never having been thru that, i can only imagine the emotional anguish they go thru.
there was a possibility that i would have had to make that choice-but the amnio came back good. i'm personally thankful that i didn't have to face that moment. however, i will not judge a woman who has to make that decision, nor second guess her decision--she didn't make it lightly. i don't think it is right that many in our society do judge women and second guess her decision-walk a mile in her pregnant shoes. that is why i blog for choice.
