Living With Pain

I'm feeling somewhat odd. I want to do somethung, but I don't know what. I should go to sleep, and I am a bit sleepy, but I don't want to. I think my desire to find something to do is just me looking for an excuse to not go to sleep. I don't know why I don't want to sleep. In fact given that it's neaely 2am here I really should go to sleep. Like i said, odd.

I had it confirmed that the toothache I've been experiencing is a cavity. It's on tge between surface of the tooth, and the nerve is exposed, which is why it hurts so much. There was two options to deal with it. Option one was a root canal and crown. Option two remove the tooth. Since it's a back wisdom tooth, the dentist recommended option two. I've agreed somewhat reluctantly. Reluctantly because I've taken some pride in having all my original parts. I still have my appendix, I still have my tonsils, and, up til now, I still have all my wisdom teeth. And it's not just the one tooth they'll be removing. They'll also be pulling the top counterpart to the tooth with the cavity. For one thing with the tooth directly below it gone I won't really need it, and more importantly, the tooth in front of it has a cavity, also on the inbetween surface, that will be easier to get to with that tooth removed. While they're at it they're also ganna remove what's left of the premolar that broke off years ago. (Long story.) The extractions are scheduled for the 14th, a little over a week from now. I'm looking forward to it because this tooth really hurts at times.

In happier news the Pathfinder game I play in was last night. Well Friday night as technically it's Sunday morning here, now. We got a new player, so now our party has three PCs. Our newest player is running a goblin rogue/monk. Perfect fit with our tengu paladin, and my tiefling magus. The fun part was when we came to a room full of zombies. Over a dozen. I lost count of how many. I went first since I opened the door, and cast disrupt undead, a spell I've been waiting to use. Nothing spectacular. Next round, since none of the zombies had closed to melee range I cast it again. This time my attack roll was a 20 (1:20), a threat of a critical. So I rlooed to confirm, another 20 (1:400). Critical confirmed and the GM had me roll again. Another 20 (1:8000). The GM ruled that the zombie I hit exploded, and shrapnel from the blast took out four additional zombies. And that's how I took out five zombies with a single cantrup.

Then Saturday morning, I ran my last Pathfinder game. At least til the end of August, when everyone comes back from summer break. Only three players made it so I ran a continuation of a pick-up game we started several weeks back. I kind of had to. The party had made it to the fourth level, and I haven't printed that level out, and I can't because my printer is too low on ink to print the 30+ pages. So we'll start level four in the fall.

In other news, I should be getting Occult Adventures in a week. Then hopefully the week after that I'll get the Critical Fumbles Deck. Then (again hopefully) when we get our income thefttax return I can get Bestiary 5 and Bestiary 6. Then I'll just need Planar Adventures to complete my Pathfinder collection. Of course there's still other books I want, but I don't need them.

On the subject of books, the Mahon library had another one of their book sales Friday. Cha and I picked up quite a few books. Mostly fiction in my case. I've read two of my new acqusitions so far.
