ITALIAN FOOD AND RED BOX RENTALS.

mark just took me to lasagna house III. it's a family owned italian restaurant down the street. we've been eyeing it since mark moved into the town home, a little over a year ago, but never gave it a try. the roman numeral three addition to the end of the name always seemed a little weird as we hadn't seen any other restaurant, that wasn't a taqueria or chinese buffet, with a number at the end of it.

however, i was craving some italian and mark was not feeling like olive garden. and that would have definitely been my suggestion. we decided on lasagna house since their prices are pretty decent and they got some pretty good reviews on b4-u-eat and city search.

it was good. we got seated right away which was really good for 6:30 on a saturday night and being pretty packed. it took a little while for our server to see us and get our drink orders, but after that, the service was pretty good. the restaurant had a quaint feel about it that i liked. it was a little loud, but they seem to capitalize on being a family friendly restaurant so that was expected. and well, the most important part, the food was really good. they have bottom-less salad and breadsticks to go with all the entrees. the house dressing was very good. not sure what exactly it was, but it had a lot of texture and spices without being too over-powering. for an entree, i ordered the chicken alfredo. it had mushrooms in it which was different but good. mark ordered the chicken parmesan. that was also pretty tasty even though i'm not a huge fan of dishes with tomato/marinara sauce. pretty yehm. we'll definitely go back. it's always nice to find a new place...and it's especially nice that it's right down the street.

dinner talk: people we know with the funniest laughs. (we both agreed on me.) fairies. lucy liu. charlies angels 1 & 2. how we'd announce our new baby to our family/friends [WHEN WE OUR PREGNANT--AND, WE'RE NOT]. (there was a family sitting a table away from us with a couple that announced that they were pregnant with their second baby to some family who looked like they may have been parents. that was pretty sweet in a very not dude, where's my car sort of way. but that's what got us started on that). fake desserts on the dessert trays. & more.

'twas a nice night.

mark and i watched lucky#slevin last night. i didn't really like the way it started off. it had a couple very unnecessary seks scenes. but as the movie went on it got better. i like bruce willis. and lucy liu, too. not a huge fan of josh hartnett but he worked for the role. kinda' surprised yahoo reviews gave it a C+. *shrugs* to each his own.

the night before, we watched green st. hooligans as per a recommendation in joel's blog. we really liked it. it had some pretty violent/graphic fight scenes, but if you can get past that, the story was really good. it was definitely refreshing to watch a different kind of a movie. get so tired of the same old stuff that hollywood is constantly throwing out there. elijah wood did a fab. job, as always. and claire forlani was in it and, yeah, i like her.

plug: we love red box. especially now that you can see what dvds are available at your local red box kiosks and reserve them online. verry nice. plus they have witty marketing. and we always like that.

aside from today, mark and i have had a pretty heavy week. i can't really recall anything if i think about it. but the past couple weeks have moved by pretty fast. it's felt like we have always been doing something and, when we're not doing something, that there's so much to be done. we finally just got the house put back together from painting. we sort of had to pull it all together within an hour of finding out angeline was in town four hours earlier than we had anticipated her being. but it's good to have everything back in its place. the floors could use a good mopping, but the house is clean and that does bring about a sense of relief. i get so irritated/moody when the house is in disarray. i feel like i've been doing laundry all week, too. it's as if the paint job set us way back on house work. but it's all good because i'm all caught up. and that IS a good feeling. i can't even imagine what exactly it's going to be like when we have three little ones running all over the place spilling kool-aid and drawing on the walls...but i can't wait...and the work really will be all worth it. not that it's not very worth it right now to have an orderly house. :)

tomorrow morning, i am going to be in kaleo kids. i'm pretty excited about that as i haven't been in kaleo kids for what feels like forever but has really been more like a little over a month. i've been going through child/baby withdrawal so it'll be good and fun.

ps: the weather has been wonderful. wouldn't mind it a little much colder, BUT it's still been cooler than usual so i am definitely not complaining and in high anticipation. so is my jacket.
