I watched No Country For Old Men again recently. In light of having watched Annie Hall earlier, I had a sudden realization: No Country For Old Men is based on Annie Hall! Anton Chiggurh is the Woody Allen character, ruining Llewellyn Moss's life and refusing to give up.
Just kidding. But I did want to say this: about a year after watching No Country For Old Men, I was going over a lot of the scenes in my head and thinking "man, I must have watched that a lot, if the scenes stuck with me for so long."
You know how sometimes, you start to watch a movie, and you realize part of the way through, "hey, I've seen this piece of crap before, but it was so bad, I blotted all memory of it from my mind"?
Well, when I tried to figure out how many times I had gone to see No Country For Old Men in the theaters, I was surprised to discover I had only seen it once. My recent viewing was the second and third time. So that makes it the opposite of one of those crappy movies.
