We had a bit of a cold snap this week in Jacksonville. A friend of mine stumbled upon this baby moccasin shivering by the side of a retention pond and snapped the pic while we were out and about.

Our dog has been barking at *something* almost every night for the past few months. We thought it was the neighbors catty-corner to us who had gotten a new dog (they did) or the next door neighbors who got a cat that likes to walk along the top edge of the fence (also true).

Tonight we found out that it is. . .an opossum.
