I wrote these instructions for the Blogger BioBlitz, which I'm participating in and realized I'd never posted the info on how to geotag photos in Flickr for the urban_nature group. So....

My photos are finally showing up on the flickr lj urban nature group map!!! I had to register a complaint with flickr, and they fixed an (unspecified) problem with my account over there ( Read more... )

Due to overwhelming positive response to my flickr geotagging poll, I created a group on flickr to pool photos from urban_nature community members. Membership is by "invitation only" so to join, you'll have to send a request that I will approve - just let me know that you're an lj'er.

The photo hosting site flickr has a new (to me anyway) feature called geotagging, which allows users to place their photos at a specific location. Photos in a designated group can be viewed together on a map of the world. By using this feature, urban_nature community members could create a group in flickr such that our posts here could be viewed on a group ( Read more... )
