Roswell (Night of the 9th November)

Dec 22, 2011 17:14

We left Durango and drove South into New Mexico, it was quite snowy. But desert. This was pretty much the stretch of nothingness that awaited for us that day though it got less snowy. Though we did see lots of trains. I drove for ages and ‘took a left turn at Alberquerque’ (like famous Bugs Bunny quote). Adrian made me write that, haha.

The first photos were taken in Area 51 Museum, not sure how it can be called a Museum but anyway… expect a rundown place where you can take some uber kitschy pics. Def self made fun. Then we went to numerous alien gift shops (most of the rest of Roswell looks rundown and lots of buildings empty that said as NZlanders we cannot imagine how the recession struck US, it was so much worse looking at the stuff around us that we can even imagine). I like the alien footprints, they lead down the street and go into a alien gift shop with this whole Roswell ‘Space Walk’ in it described as ‘animmersive art installation in black light, unique to Roswell, for the interest, edification and delight of the entire family that transports them through time and space, following future from the past into outer space and beyond.’ The guy there is hilarious, worth a visit just for that. man be wacky to see it in full on UFO festival mode.

The next day we went to the UFO Museum, sadly no Jason Behr (Max) around for my own eye candy pleasure, haha. We always found it interesting at this Museum and at the Civil Rights Museum the way that the government tried to rewrite history or acts all dodgy that makes people all paranoid and come up with whacky theories to explain things. Caz I guess you’ll never know what really happened! I’m not sure if I am a Mulder though. I def dont know if I believe in aliens. I think I used to be a Mulder “I want to believe”
.
