Anime vs. Manga
Hello, all :) I've only just recently discovered Uraboku, but having only the anime and the first 18 chapters to go off of, I am SO incredibly confused and kind of disappointed and dissatisfied. I started with the anime and fell in love right away, but as the second arc started, everything just seemed to get more and more...weird and vague. So I

Without having the manga to draw from, it's like the writers of the anime just completely lost the thread of the whole plot in those last few episodes - unnecessary characters appeared, other already established characters had no resolution to their storylines, the battle itself had no resolution...and on and on. The last few episodes were basically a clusterfuck of "let's see how much crap we can cram in before our 24 episodes are up." The series really would benefit from a second season, but alas, it seems it's not to be :(
I heartily recommend the manga. Not that I've managed to read much of it, but what I have read thus far is amazing. There's better characterization and more bits of humor and I think there's at least slightly more backstory than what was in the anime. And since the manga isn't finished yet, there is of course that potential to finally have my many, many questions eventually answered =P
