Hello, all :) I've only just recently discovered Uraboku, but having only the anime and the first 18 chapters to go off of, I am SO incredibly confused and kind of disappointed and dissatisfied. I started with the anime and fell in love right away, but as the second arc started, everything just seemed to get more and more...weird and vague. So I have some questions that are pretty much directed at the people who can read Japanese and so are caught up with all currently released volumes of Uraboku...
Basically, I want to know at what point the anime starts to deviate from the manga. I've read around a bit and thus far, all I know is the ending does have some difference, simply because at the time the anime aired, the manga wasn't far enough along to provide an actual ending.
I'm really hoping that pretty much nothing from the final battle is in the manga. (If I'm being honest, I'm hoping that most of the second arc isn't in the manga, but I'm sure that's not the case.) From the point Yuki stepped out of the mansion and got kidnapped to the very end, I was just so frustrated and disappointed in pretty much everyone and everything. I thought Yuki was incredibly stupid for walking out in the first place when he knew there was nothing he could do - didn't he realize he'd cause more trouble by making himself a vulnerable target? Then the battles themselves were so, well, lame. Two of the Opasts got away virtually unscathed, and the third got blasted because he was stupid. I was really hoping Kuroto and Senshirou would finally get to take out Cadenza - at the least, they could have worn him down enough that Yuki's power would finish him off. And then there was Hyde vs. Shusei and Hotsuma for what felt like the millionth time...you'd think they'd be allowed to get some good hits in too and get some revenge...but nope. I didn't care about Elegy and didn't mind that she managed to escape, but yeah, I definitely felt that the other two Duras got off way to easily after all the build-up between them and the Zweilt they fought (not that Hyde really got off, but I'm still disappointed that Shusei and Hotsuma seemed to have really nothing to do with him being beaten).
And then there's just the general nature of the end of the battle. I do not understand why or how it happened. There was just Takashiro's vague comment about "isn't this what you've been looking for?" to Reiga, and then suddenly they're all at the Twilight Mansion and it's all over? WHAT? I'm so confused. After all the build-up and tension, all the Opasts got away and Reiga just...disappears...and no one knows if he's planning on trying to fight them again or not. WHAT KIND OF ENDING IS THAT? Since there's no word yet about a second season, I'm assuming it's just not going to happen, so that was a really shitty way to end the anime. I'm not even going to go into all the relationship stuff I wanted answered too (I acknowledge that those questions aren't really the important points, and it's mostly the dirty yaoi girl in me that wants satisfaction...although I do have a ton of questions about Girl!Yuki and Luka). It was just a horrible, horrible ending.
Since the released translations stop at around the halfway point of the anime, I don't even have the manga to answer any questions yet :( So basically I'm just curious about how much of the anime is true to the manga. Also, does anyone know how many volumes the manga will wind up being? All I know is that it's currently on volume 9 (how many chapters is that, anyway? I'm also curious about how far behind we are here in North America haha) in Japan and is still ongoing, but has anyone heard any word about how many more volumes we can expect?
Okay, sorry, didn't mean to ramble that much. I JUST HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS AND OPINIONS ABOUT THIS SERIES! I'll shut up now. But omg I already miss Luka WHY YOU END, ANIME?
