#2!!!!!!!!!!

ahem...

all of these are wonderful, of course. But it was #2 that made me an unforgiving fan of this show. Before, it was intriguing and a possible paper topic, this was the moment where I threw Reason out the window and just started stanning EVERYONE. I don't apologize for it, either.

Yes, this line really got my attention as well. The wording is just stunning, because it's not "Stop trying to feel my guilt" or anything like that. It's "You're not allowed", as if a pouty boy was arguing with his brother... which is exactly what's happening!

THIS EPISODE! Is STILL my favorite (S3 is a narrative dream, but THIS EPISODE, GOOD LORD!) I just love these boys in this moment ...

And Elena is just stunning in this episode. STUNNING I SAY.

Seriously, though. He witnesses his wife being killed by a supernatural creature, and that motivates him to become a demon hunter who tracks down his wife's killer... I tried to imagine John drinking beer with yellow-eyed demon, and then my brain imploded XD.

Warnings: This is not a very deep post.
LMFAO. Don't even try, you fraud.

I'm way too casual a viewer too notice remember pretty lines. They shape up my perception of the show and its characters, but I don't really recall any of them. Especially since I haven't done a single rewatch of the show yet. (Can you believe that? After two years of emotional devotion?) And season one is such a blur, that recalling lines isn't even an option. Which is why this is a lovely post. You reintroduce me to awesome things I had totally forgotten. (And I didn't have to do nothing :D) Way to go!

I love all of these.

Especially number 10, because Ric ♥ and his shamelessly cynic patheticness-basking is my favorite thing. He doesn't take himself seriously as a character and my love for that is unabashed. The repeated 'Worst gardian ever' line might or might not make me want to kiss the daylight out of him. The line itself is so ridiculously ridiculous ; resigned and guilty and mocking... I just can't with things like that ( ... )

Come on. It was a totally spontaneous post, and it's shamefully short. No deep analysis happened in this bar, just a bunch of chaotic thoughts.

He doesn't take himself seriously as a character and my love for that is unabashed.

I KNOW RIGHT? My favorite thing about Alaric, his self-proclaimed absurdity.

Self-aware Damon will never not be a thing of beauty. How fucked up is it that both brothers try so hard to become a story? With Stefan always being the main character, the redeemed hero or the terrorising abomination. Stefan defines the story. He is the story. And Damon... Forever trying out minor character suits. Forcing himself to revolve around the major character in the book he picks, because that's what'll define him for the day, for the month, for the century. He is the cliché. When you know what character he plays, he is agonizingly predictable.

I'M JUST GONNA SIT HERE WITH MY MOUTH OPENED AND LET YOU WRITE ALL THE THOUGHTS.

This is interesting to me because I had a conversation months ago now with crowandfog and she pointed out that Stefan's very first lines in the Pilot episode are: I am a vampire, and this is my story and then the opening shot is of Damon getting some dinner on a lonely mountain road. Stefan's story is about Damon and Damon's story is about (Katherine/Elena/___________) because it's always changing as he's trying to get his footing on the whole thing. This week he hates his brother, so he's trying to destroy his life piece by piece, next week he's trying to save his brother from his bloodlust. Very interesting.

I LOVE ALL OF THESE. LITERALLY ALL OF THEM. The only one I wouldn't put on my favorites list is the beginning Alaric and that's because it never occured to me, but aaaah, Alaric Saltzman is a joke and he KNOWS it.

9. THIS PART WAS SO PERFECT. Because you expect him to lie or cling to Caroline's comfort or even not say anything at all, and instead he lays it out bare what anyone would be feeling, he's not okay, and flat out rejects what Caroline is saying (not out of meanness, just honest) and he doesn't know if or how to be okay and I really really appreciate that there's no hiding this is fucking him up, that he's just too broken down in that moment to hide his pain, not when he feels like he's been turned inside out. Idk random feelings explosion over that bit ( ... )

THIS. I can't stop staring at him being so exposed. It tells you everything about how terribly traumatizing the full moon was to him. He's so broken he doesn't even try to hide how broken he is.

Ugh, I LOVE THESE.

#2 is my absolute favourite of all the things though. The rest are also brilliant, but THAT MOMENT. When you realise that Damon KNOWS. He knows that he's screwing things up, he knows he's a dick, but he CHOOSES to be the person that he is. He's not going to change because anyone else expects him to. He is who he is.
