I had forgotten, until you mentioned it, that Elena slapped Stefan. (Did I mention my Jeremy-pain, 'cause it was a little blinding last night.) And it reminded me of someone, somewhere who pointed out that the audience can see Damon's true feelings for Elena because he *allows her* to slap him, hit him, when he can easily stop her. That it shows physical and emotional restraint or something.
Now. This is an extremely gendered comment. But taken as just a human vs. Vamp comment - I want to apply it to this latest slap.... Why did Stefan "allow" that? Curious minds need to know.
Jeremy leaving is very sad, but hey, I'm sure he'll be back! And I sure as hell understand Elena. I don't approve (morally, because plot-wise I totally approve), but I do understand.

I think with Damon it's pretty simple - he wants an emotional reaction from Elena, and anger is as good as anything. Random: Is it just me, or livejournal got moody, and lately it is more and more difficult to access it via mobile phone?
Basically I just switch back and forth between Mobile view and regular view on my phone so much I don't think I'd know if there was a real issue if there was one. I also spend most of my working hours glued to lj via my phone. I downloaded the app a while back, but all it allowed me to do was post... which the mobile site also does. No perks there.
You know, it might've been me...
It's highly possible. I have a horrible memory. I thought it might have been in one of the essays in Welcome to Mystic Falls but wasn't sure.
I like this reading. Stefan's got some "playing the role" issues going on always, and now no more less so.
Oh! Ah!!! I just remembered. The original comment - it was about when Vicki dies. And Elena's all "I'ma slap this ho" afterwards and he just lets her pound him.
So it wasn't me, I was talking about the face slapping when discussing some Damon/Elena fanvids :).
Both Salvatores are constantly playing some roles, and at this point I'm not sure if they're capable of not doing it. I guess it makes sense. They aren't human. What they feel is not human, it's all crazy and magnified, all the emotions going awry, so they have to perform human emotions if they want to communicate with humans correctly.
