Hendon Blue Devils - 3-0

Well, it's been awhile since I've updated, or at least it seems like it has been.

So, this summer I'm playing in two different softball leagues, Hendon and MTS Sports.

So, far my Hendon team is 3-0. Tonight we came back from a 9-1 deficit in the bottom half of the last inning. It was a pretty close game for the most part. Our team started giving up a bunch of walks and some hits here and there accounted for the other teams runs (Guggers). We got the runs back in the last inning when their pitcher started walking everyone. I went 1-2 with a walk. An infield single, a fly out to mid-centre field. I was playing mostly left field and a couple of innings at first base. Made a few defensive plays, nothing spectacular. Caught a fly out to left, and a few one or two hoppers. Had a few plays at first base, I think I've got a pretty good understanding of the position but I still need to work on catching the low-balls in the dirt. Also, I've figured out a key problem with my throws from the outfield, I'm staying too much on my back leg and it's not giving me enough power to make distance throws. So, I have to start shifting my weight onto my front foot.

In the first game, I went 3-3 with two singles, and a double. 1 fly out catch and one stupid error, where the ball tipped off my glove on a fly ball. I didn't get a good read on it, and botched the play.

In the second game I went 1-2, infield single and a fly out. I haven't really swung the bat all that well so far.

I realize most people won't care about any of this, but I want to keep some recap/record of the games throughout the season.

oh, if you aren't watching the jays this year - you really should start, this has to be their best team since '92/'93. Really exicting team to watch! If anyone wants to go to a game, I'm always up for it.
