Bigger than Love/Simon Amstell
I'm back at my parents house, and I've been here about... 20 hours? Now I'm bored out of my skull, watching Cash in the Attic with a textbook and my laptop.... Is that bad? It's normally quite good coming home for a bit, but everyone I went to school with is working or at Uni. So... I'm just here. With my Mum. I mean, I love her, but she is mad. And she keeps going off in my car.
Buuuuut, I went to see Simon Amstell last night!! It was amazing!
I'd only ever seen him presenting before, so I don't know how he'd do stand up, but he was actually really, really good. It's quite dark stuff a lot of the time, with a most of it being him making fun of himself and whatever. But very, very funny, and actually quite clever and thoughtful. I wanted to give him a hug, and have him be my friend... It's a real shame he's gay.
And he's grown his hair into the mop style again, which can only be a good thing. He's a real-life dandelion hair. XD Anyways, I took my little brother, and we both really enjoyed it. Totally worth taking the trip back to Cambridge for.
What else? Uni's going good - this year's turning out to be a lot better than last. I think because we're in much smaller groups for practicals and tutorials, so you get to know people better and get more time with the teacher. It was my housemate's 20th birthday, and we went to a Cuban restaurant to celebrate. It took me back to my holiday... they made all the cocktails me and my cousin pretty much lived on for the fortnight. Anyways, we'll go out properly on Saturday, then on Sunday I'm doing a pub crawl dressed as a pensioner. Though I need to work out a costume...
I think that's it! Bargain Hunt's about to start, anyways. So I think it deserves my full attention. I really like how the bloke presenting it co-ordinates his glasses to match the rest of his outfit...
