*hugs*

I'm sorry it happened like this, but on the other hand there was a lot in your post that really encouraged me; read back through your journal and I'm sure it will strike you, as it did me, how much stronger you are getting.

It is a golden rule that a man who doesn't know what he wants is a man who doesn't want what he currently has, and you are certainly best off without anyone in that category. You deserve no less. I think you do absolutely right to finish things yourself when you are in that situation.

Thank you for the encouragement! I can't tell you how much it means to have good friends like you to stand by me while I sort this all out. *Hugs back.*

I called him at midnight (I figured, if I couldn't sleep, he shouldn't) and told him that it was over. He agreed that it was the best thing to do, apologized for hurting my feelings and insisted that we remain close friends. We're still going to New York together, but I made it very clear that there were physical boundaries to uphold. No more confusion, which is wonderful. Now, I can focus on getting over him.

"...he never approved of when we were dating (video games, cartoons, artistic projects, writing music and wearing that silly sweater that he never liked)"

Wow, he doesn't deserve you.

Oh well..
Good fortune to you. Stay strong, resilient, and you. The good you. Not that there's a bad you or anything... Or is there? Where was I going with this....?

Heh, anyway, it's good to read that you are not broken.

have a good one, Twit.

Thanks, Jay!

You know what? I agree with you! I think that in any relationship, both people have to accept *all aspects* of each other, not just the ones that they happen to agree with. I would never, ever, ever have told him that his computers were a waste of time, and he couldn't afford me the same courtesy with all of my non-science things. Things that were, I might add, incredibly important to me.

:)
