I've decided I don't like acoustic guitars. This thought for me goes in and out of style but I played an acoustic guitar the majority of the past 2 years and even though I do love that guitar I've just grown bored with acoustic sounds. I started playing my electric alot in the past month and I forgot how much more I liked it. Its just more fun to play and the sound just does it for me. I don't know why. I tried amplifying my acoustic and I got some good sounds from it but acoustic guitars are just too strummy for me. Not that I don't like a strummy feel just sometimes it is too much for me.
Its weird this idea transitions into the music I listen to as well. I just change songs when an acoustic song comes up for the most part. If it has strong backing parts from a keyboard or something I will still listen too. Or if it is NMH of course.
I'm just in love with the sound of an electric guitar right now clean, distorted it really doesn't matter just as long as the guitar is placed front and center.
I realize now that my idea of a linear album last night was just a rock opera and the only reason I was thinking about that is because I've listened to the new Fishboy cd far too much recently. And it is a Twee Pop opera about robbing banks with the ghost of buddy holly and getting thrown in jail and working at a taco stand. Though not in the order listed. None the less its a good story. You can stream the whole cd here.
http://www.farewellalbatross.com/ Its really really amazing and not all that twee if that is a turn off for you. Seriously though these guys were probably the best act at Athens Pop Fest and rocked out harder than anyone I've ever seen.
I think I've said all that before
