I DANCED ONSTAGE WITH BECK LAST FRIDAY.
BECK, YOU ARE EXTRAORDINARY.
basically, it was the best night of my life so far. everythng Beck did was incredible. every song he played was a million times better live than on any CD. for the whole night, ella, julia and i were at the very front of the very front of the very front. we had pit tickets and we were ON THE RAIL. there was nothing between us and beck except for security and the stage. no people, everybody was behind us. we were pretty fucking happy. Beck was just awesome. i think the reason he is so brilliant is because he makes all different kinds of music - well, he plays SO many different instruments - and he can pull off anything he wants. anyway, the concert ended with "E-Pro" and as he and the band were waling offstage, the crowd picked up the "NAH-NAH-NAHNAHNAHNAH-NAAAH"s on rythmto the point where it was so fast and so loud that he and his band came back onstage for the encore. DURING the encore, security started pulling a few of us kids from the audience onstage and there were about 13 of us just dancing like hell crazy mad with beck and his band onstage. everything was heightened to the umpteenth power. just standing a foot away from Beck made me feel like i was floating on cloud 9. (thank you, Dante)... so while dancing onstage, i got to shake hips with Beck and i was singing so loudly and he walked over to our little threesome, and while dancing with us, he ran his fingers through julia's newly dyed red streaked hair during the part of the song that sang "I'll comb your hair..." and she was fucking thrilled. after the show, i shook his hand and said "Beck, you're extraordinary. you did a great show." and he put his other hand on top of our already shaking hands and said "Thank you, but YOU were great." whatever he was talking about, i was SO ecstatic. just looking at him i realized he has the aura of a character in a dream.
