Strongly fighting the urge to block an undergrad roommate who just found me on instagram, and instead repeating any self-affirming phrases I can think of. I am an acceptable person and my choices are not wrong simply because a group I used to look to for Correctness does not approve of my choices or even my *being*. It is high time I unlearned the hiding reflex.
Which is an interesting tie-in to today's Weiß binge-watch with Brit - we got through episode 20, which means lots of Schwarz happening, and also Farf's backstory. She still doesn't get what we all see in Schuldy, though honestly given her family situation that makes a lot of sense, and I don't push the issue. (I mean, he can be a little overhyped sometimes, if we're being honest.) She *does* like Crawford though, and also Nagi, and I don't know if she *likes* Farf but we did talk at length about how much we *get* him. Look, being stabbed in the back by a religion you were conditioned to believe was Everything is rough, ok? And then I complained for a bit about how how he's often oversimplified or misrepresented in fic, and we agreed that much of that comes out of a fundamental non-understanding of how he got that way, as it were. You really have to live it to *feel* it properly, we think.
And then we commiserated over trying to find hair places anywhere in this wilderness who understand tomboy femme ≠ butch ≠ cis men's haircuts, OR ARE YOU NOT LISTENING TO US, we just want cute-but-short hair OK??, sigh. But her Bedhead Chic is working very nicely, and I'm scheduling an appointment to shave rather a lot of mine soon (let me tell you the story of the Swedish hiker I encountered on the transport at Denali and her perfect undercut! --actually that IS the story), so I think we're managing. We'll see next week, since B's planning to drive up for a Sunday Queer Brunch we've all been putting off, and probably the last 5 episodes of Kapitel. ...and also she left her phone charger in my wall, soooo that too.
I think my Denali Travelogue is going to end up on tumblr since it's easier to include photos there. I have just a couple days more of photos to process, and then I'll do that in earnest (minus the Delta Ranting, since really we all only needed to live through that once, right?). My hands have been very busy with a shawl I've been wanting to make SO MUCH, so I haven't done as many photos as I should.
