Starting March 17th, the Big Bang Theory aires new episodes. For those who need it, this is obvious proof that there is a God, and he is good.
Seriously though, this might be my favorite show of all time. Ever. First, it's incredibly humorous on both an intellectual and basic level. There is the normal face-value humor that so many shows see, but there's also the incredibly nerdy bonus humor that is a complete aside to the awkward social commentary. It's so brilliant. Second, if it wasn't clear already, the intellectual humor appeals to the geek in me. Part of my extracurricular activities include listening to physics lectures, reading about propaganda, and playing Warcraft. While many of the jokes aren't meant as the funny part but as emphasis on the nerdyness and how over the top the guys are, but it's still funny. Third, the commentary is both compelling and fulfilling. So many shows these days play up either social drama or stupid vulgar sitcom-ish crap. It's intelligent, it makes you laugh without having to be disgusting or vulgar, but at the same time it's not drama. It's a return to the classic sitcom, the Bob Newhart or the Taxi style show. The story carries on, but each show is unique. You get invested in the characters, but you don't have to follow the drama or the overwhelmingly convoluted story lines where every person is tied by VD or bastard-ish relationships. I absolutely love this show. I recommend it to everyone.
