Recently...
I was looking at that little calendar thing LJ gives you, and it says I haven't updated in three weeks. Opps? I've been around! I've been commenting on other peoples posts, but I haven't really thought of anything worth posting myself.
How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Mine was nice. I go visit family on my dad's side, which is tiny compared to my mom's. There's only eight of us, so it was a nice, quiet holiday. We ate turkey (it was my aunt's first time cooking a whole turkey) and played a game (completely blanking on the name right now, it's the one where you roll a bunch of dice and try to get matches), and my aunt gave me a very very belated birthday present (a Vera Bradley purse).
So that was Thanksgiving. Today I was cleaning out a box full of my old elementary school stuff and I found a picture from kindergarten. I was tiny. And I barely recognize any of the kids anymore. Also, I had truly appalling spelling as a kid. It was horrible.
Also, I've been watching comedies lately: The Big Bang Theory, Friends, MASH (which I have just started watching and I really like). There's some Cyber Monday/Black Friday deals on Amazon for dvds that I'm contemplating buying, too. I don't know if it's worth it, but the sales are awesome. All the dvd sets they have on sale are 13 dollars. It's a pretty nice deal.

I got this meme from rocketgirl2 weeks ago and it's been sitting in my documents folder--gathering e-dust--while I keep forgetting to post it. So, sorry it's so late, I don't know what happened. :/
1. Writing - I LOVE to write. Unfortunately, I also suck at coming up with endings and I let my self-consciousness about failing at it creatively block me, so I don't write as much as I'd like. I used to! And then my reading standards went way up and I got all nervous that my own writing wouldn't be good enough. Which is a vicious circle, because if I don't practice my writing, I'll never get any better.
Still, I love to write, especially when I have something to say, and finishing a story is one of the best feelings ever.
2. That computer class - lol, I'm taking a computer information intro class this semester. It's... well, not unbearably difficult, but I'm not sure it's something I really enjoy doing. And there are so many computer parts to remember. I'm currently working on my last few homework assignments for the class before the two week group project and final exam. There is a lot of busywork in this class. And my professor was awesome and gave us an extention on this weeks work from the usual due date friday to monday because of Thanksgiving, so that was nice.
3. Mythology things - Mythology is my favorite, Greek mythology especially. I did a whole series of abstract paintings based off of Greek myths a few years ago. The research was a blast. My favorite myths are Persephone, Pandora, and Icarus.
4. Reading - Reading has to be my absolute favorite thing to do in the world. I read everyday, be it books or fanfic or news or textbooks. It's so much fun. I can't even imagine my life if I wasn't constantly reading something. What would I do? My favorite genres are fantasy, YA, mystery, and LGBTQ. Books are the best. ♥
5. Castle! - Castle is an awesome tv show. It's got a badass female cop, Nathan Fillion being adorable and hilarious, writer-ly talk, and a great family dynamic. I would watch this show forever. I also find it kind of great that Castle is pretty much the only show on tv right now where the woman has all the angst and the guy has pretty much none at all. That is really not something you see very often. I like that it's bucking the current trend.
Also Castle/Becket OTP. ♥ They need to get together already! I don't know how much longer it's going to seem plausible to me that they're still not a couple. Also, I really just want ridiculously domestic Castle/Beckett for some reason. They're practically family as it is.
Closing on a shallow thought: I miss Beckett's short hair! I think it suited her better.
...I hope that makes sense. My neck is killing me. My thought processes kind of devolved as I got more uncomfortable. I really need to figure out a better way to type than what I have now. Maybe I can hook up another keyboard to my laptop and type on my lap. /random note to self
