Birthday
It was my birthday yesterday, on the second! I got a NOOK as a present, which I was not expecting at all and I am very happy about. It's so small! And for some reason it is so much fun to read on an e-reader. I love it!! I've even got a nice shiny cover.
So now I've been looking around the internet and at my library for free e-books, because I am cheap. There used to be an lj comm that everyone uploaded e-books too, but it was gone when I went looking. LJ's TOS people must have shut it down. :/ Oh well.
And I'm still trying to figure out how to convert files to get them to load onto the e-reader from my library (and I may also be curious to see if I can upload fanfic and read it on the Nook). Also, the Nook came with sample books (I'm still unsure how to delete the one I don't want, there doesn't seem to be a delete button) and one of them was a one of Rick Riordan's Egyptian/Geek mythology kid's books (he wrote the Percy Jackson series) and I read the sample--'cause why not?--and got completely hooked. I must read them all now!!
So yeah, now I'm facepalming at myself, because I have actual college level books I'm supposed to read for my fall classes and instead I'm reading children's fiction about demigods. :P
Anyway, my birthday was nice. I didn't do much, but I got a special dinner made for me and apple tart for dessert and it rained (I love rain) so it was pretty nice. I have tentative plans to go to a museum this weekend to celebrate since I didn't do much on the actual day.
