Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

So, I went to see this today. It was AMAZING. Everything I was looking forward to and wanting to see. I saw it in IMAX 3D (and I usually hate 3D, but this one wasn't too bad. Maybe because they were less interested in having things pop out at you unexpectedly than they were at making everything seem more realistic and lifelike) and we got there a little over an hour early and were near the front of the line, so we got middle seats in the very back row. \o/ Although sitting on the titled floor for an hour was annoying, I can't imagine what the people who got there hours early for the midnight showing must have felt.

I am so so sad that it's over now though. The last thing I have to wait for is for the last movie to come out on dvd and then it is over. :( It's super depressing, 'cause these books were my childhood. They taught me how to read and to love reading and I'll miss them.

Favorite bits?

-the escape from Gringotts on the back of the dragon

-everything Maggie Smith (and her Professor McGonagall) chooses to be

-Harry and Voldemort dueling at the end (it kind of bugged me that they didn't do much actual fighting in the book)

-Ron and Hermione's kiss

-Luna yelling at Harry to listen to her ♥

-that they kept Molly's NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH line

-the Malfoy's leaving in the middle of the fight all 'fuck THIS noise'

-that Ron knows parseltongue because Harry talks in his sleep :D

-when Hermione told Harry 'I'll go with you' when he was going to let Voldemort kill him :`( Now that's friendship right there

Thing I didn't like?

-We didn't get to see Fred's death scene! And Percy didn't show up either, I liked that bit in the book

-Voldemort exploding into bits of skin ewwwwwwwwwwwwww dnw

-the Harry and Voldemort fighting in midair bit went on a little too long. it got boring

-well, the epilogue, but I didn't like that bit in the book, so I didn't expect this to change in the movie

-they killed Lavender! I didn't remember them doing that in the book. And Griphook! And the imperioused goblin (that was sad, not funny. I didn't like that bit at all)

...and that's all I can remember right now. Has anyone else seen it yet?

reviews, harry potter
