I still think that cover is a piece of sheer brilliance, but.. while I continue to like Bruce's journey and I am excited for the next issue because it has Jonah Hex, I don't quite get while no one seems to be, I don't know, happy that BRUCE IS NOT DEAD.

Yes, so he can't return to the present because everyone will die, but a) it's Bruce, he'll figure something out that probably won't involve everyone else dying and b) maybe rather than stop him maybe you could try and help him? I don't know, it kind of feels like I'm missing something.

(Edit: Maybe we'll get more information when that Time Masters thing actually starts. Still, it bugs me.)

It's pretty much my problem with Grant Morrison's Batman run - the stories and concepts are interesting, but a lot of the time the characters don't feel right. Or don't feel - they're just tools to tell the story. Which might work for some, but I need more emotional involvement.

At least I really liked this month's Detective Comics. Here was Dick, being competent and himself and some interesting art (I loved what they did with the flashbacks).

Oh, and I have to pick a book to read for a comic book club I'm in. And I don't know what to pick! I've narrowed it down to All-Star Superman and the first book of Promethea. I think since almost everybody has probably read All-Star Superman already, Promethea might be the better choice, but I'm not sure :/ I'll try and reread Promethea this weekend. There should be more than enough to talk about in there, and the art's gorgeous. (It *is* J.H.Williams III, after all.)
