I GOT IT FIXED \o/
Well not really. I called tech support around 10 am this morning. The lady was very accommodating and told me to try connecting the player to a different USB port. I already did that, but I gave it another try. Still no luck. I called again and the lady suggested that I go back to the store where I bought the player and have it checked.
So I dragged my mother along on my trip to the mall after lunch. XD The tech guy at CD-R King was much more accommodating and helpful than the sales people. >.<" After a few minutes of trying the player out, he declared it defective, and replaced it with another one that works.
Now my player is charging, but I got a chance to use it for a few hours before the battery died. HAPPY~
