Buffy IS Whedon. It's his brainchild, his show, his greatest success. Every character, every scrap of dialogue, is infused with his voice and spirit. There's a reason why "Buffyspeak" is still influencing young people and television shows today -- it's witty and unique and at the heart of it, so very Joss. He is the world's most badass, creative nerd and he pours his love into his projects, and it shows. They have heart.
Oh but wait. It gets better. None of the other characters will exist in this new movie. None of the plot-lines. Nothing. Not even Giles. So basically it's just a generic, bland piece-of-shit about vampires that Hollywood is pumping out in an attempt to get in on the frenzy of Twilight.
And the final kicker? They didn't even ask Joss. THEY DIDN'T EVEN ASK. They didn't want him on the project from the beginning. THEY DIDN'T EVEN TELL HIM IT WAS BEING MADE. They just stomped all over his territory and didn't even GO TO HIM FOR CONSULTATION ON HIS VERY OWN CREATION.
Fuck you, Hollywood. Fuck you.
