the minor fall, the major lift
July 4th... went to the city and saw Rufus Wainwright perform (plus Elton John and others). He played "Hallelujah" (i LOVE his cover... it's probably my favorite version of the song) and "Liberty Cabbage" (he said it was the first song he wrote.. I think.. and about him dealing with being gay and being scared by AIDS). It was a cool show, even though everyone looked really really small on stage from where I was standing. It was nice to hear Rufus' voice live though-- he has such a beautiful voice. I really want to hear him play a full show. In time I'm sure it'll happen.
I saw "Look at Me" (or "Comme Une Image") last nice and enjoyed it a lot. I really am in love with foreign (particularly French) films and definitely need to see more.
And I'm really excited because Maxx just called (and, of course, I missed it because my cell phone doesn't really stick with me 24-7) and left a message... I was worried he had forgotten about Friday, but he didn't, so I'm glad.
Now if only I could see my "sisterhood" friends sometime before August, then things would be fantabulous. =/
