Well it's 1:40 am on a Sunday & I cannot sleep. My little firefighter is out cold in bed next to me, however I can't seem to catch a wink. & I have to be up in 6 hours for a long day of school & work. Ashley and I both went to FAU Freshmen year, we had every single class together and lived in the same building. So, we grew really close and became best friends, when alex and I broke up we joked around about being together but things got complicated. He got a DUI and arrested when he was home in Tallahassee, so he had to withdraw from FAU and go to TCC 6 hours away.
Long story short, I became unhappy at FAU because it just wasn't the same anymore. It was a plus that the art program there wasn't the best either, and FSU was on my top 5 schools to transfer too. A year and a half of long-distance "dating" was hard and seeing each other once every two months, but I finally decided to just move to Tally for school, not because of him although he was a very big pro when i was weighing my options. It was the Best decision I ever made, My grades are better because I'm the happiest I've ever been and we've grown so much more in love.
He graduates this semester and is either moving to Gainsville, Panama or could stay here. It tore me apart because the whole reason we were never official or serious was because he doesn't do long-distance. So I started thinking it wouldn't even be worth the time and energy if it will just end. I talked to him about how I felt and he reassured me that I was worth the distance and he wants to make the relationship work regardless of what happens.
I think if you talk to him about it, he will be open up and help you make your decision. Long-distance is hard, but when you do get a change to be together it will be even more special. Good luck and I hope things work out for you!
