He sometimes thought it was one of Dumbledore’s tests. He’d leave the mirror around conspicuously, and see whether you’d work it out. Catch you off guard when you were most vulnerable and see how much you would tell him.
He had always seen himself in the mirror. Keeping a steady job with people that he didn’t have to hide anything from, because there was no secret to hide.
Standing under a full moon and looking up at the stars with his own face, his own mind.
It wasn’t his own face he saw when he looked in the mirror now.
