♘ thoughts on the name.

Xerxes Break ♘ unseeking
Why did I choose unseeking? That's not a word! Well, at least I don't think it is - and it's not meant to be.
When picking this name, I wanted it to be a pune, or play on words, kind of. Something that would be oh so heartbreakingly obvious for those who are aware of his situation after ch42, but not too spoilery for anyone who hasn't read it. Like a very subtle spoiler. So, I started playing with words.
The first idea for this was two words - "unsee" and "seeking". Unseeking. Unsee, because he can no longer see (it could also refer to how his left eye is missing), and seeking, because that's what Break does. He seeks. Seeks the truth. This was the combination I went for, and I actually like it pretty much.
But! Afterwards, I realized one other thing that works well in that - one that I didn't plan, but, hey, I'm not complaining. King. "Xerxes" means a ruler (Behind the Name, Baby Names Meaning and Origins), thus, a king. I was pleased to find this sort of a hidden meaning here, although now I easily read it as "unsee king"... well, can't be helped. Maybe one day I can explain that reading, too.
"Xerxes Break", "ruler of the broken"? Perhaps not.
"Broken ruler"? Maybe not that, either...
