THE IOWA SUPREME COURT HAS JUST DECLARED IT UNCONSTITUTIONAL FOR GAY COUPLES TO BE DENIED A MARRIAGE LICENCE.
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS I HAVE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT. I WANT TO JUMP UP AND DOWN AND DANCE AND SING AND SCREAM TO THE HEAVENS. I WANT TO FIND A GIRL AND GET MARRIED, JUST BECAUSE I CAN.

The Iowa District Court for Polk County today ruled that same-sex couples must be allowed to marry under the equal protection provisions of the Iowa constitution.
I'm quite sure this decision will be appealed, so it's not over yet - indeed the Des Moines Register's coverage [suggests as much].
Cate has also posted a celebratory Farm in Iowa snippet.
Unfortunately I can't do anything other than squee and wish I had a girlfriend who would be willing to go down to Des Moines with me and get married, just because we can.
