“Hold it right there, cupid.”

Kris turned his head to his back as he heard the voice.

To his surprised, no one was there.

Instead he heard a finger snapped from the front.

A smile creeped on his face as he found two guys was standing in front of him.

“Hello there, gentleman. I’ve never seen both of you before.”

Crocking his let eyebrow, Kris continued, “New here?”

Mark looked over to Darren and both smiled to themselves.

Mark was the first one who broke the silence, “There’s no doubt you are one of us.”

“How can you be so sure?” Kris continued mixed the drink.

Darren cut in, “The clock has stop for a while and you still act like it’s normal.”

Kris found there’s only him and these two guys were still moving, while others were frozen on their spot.

A soft huffed followed a smirked formed on Kris lips,” You caught me. What can I help you?”

Mark clapped twice before the clock started back to normal.

“Who are you covering for, little guy?” Mark questioned carefully.

“It’s Kris by the way,” Kris added, “I’m sorry but I can’t reveal the person under my wing.”

“Let me guess,” Darren chimed in, “It’s Cale.”

A surprised showed on Kris face but he quickly pretend he didn’t hear that, “Cale who?”

“Darren, is that true?” Mark looked at his friend expectantly.

How in the world can Darren be so sure of?

Darren stole a glance toward Mark and continued, “Give it up Kris. I know your game.”

“Look bro,” Kris felt annoyed, “I just said I didn’t know who Cale who and what game that you’re talking about.”

“Now, if you’re excuses me. I have a job that I need to attend,” Kris went to other side of the bar serving the order.

Mark watched Kris carefully before his eyes averted back to his friend.

“Are you sure about this Darren?” Mark asked quietly, “We just meet him and you’re already…”

“Already knew the whole thing between him and Cale?” Darren replied quietly.

“Yes,” mark exclaimed a little, “What if he’s telling us the truth?”

“You did saw the arrow that he shot just now, right?” Darren asked.

Mark replied, “I do but that doesn’t mean he’s protecting Cale. A cupid indeed but…”

“You’re really lost, aren’t you?”

“Here we go again,” Mark brushed his Mohawk lightly, “What is the thing that I missed actually?”

“We’re stalking James here, remember?”

There’s an “ohh” face written on Mark face and Darren can’t help but shook his head lightly.

Really Mark?

“You guys are still here,” Kris came back to his spot as his hand filling some coke to glasses.

Darren looked at Kris carefully as he continued, “Kris, we both are doing the same job. I really hope you can give me some cooperation.”

“I would love to,” Kris smiled a little, “But I’m afraid I can’t do much here.”

A soft sighed escaped from Darren, disappointed written all over his face.

Mark placed his hand on Darren right shoulder blade, a small nod followed as he tried to comfort his friend.

“Kris,” Mark continued, “We both sorry for coming too hard on you. I’m Mark and this is Darren.”

“Nice to meet both of you,” Kris nodded a little, “But like I said …”

“Yes, you can’t help us out,” Mark chimmed in, “I get it. We are taking care of James and we know James has a crush on Cale.”

Kris nodded lightly, carefully watching Mark and Darren.

“While I’m not sure whether Cale is interested on James, it’s my job to protect James from getting his heart broken.” Mark continued.

“To make it worse,” Darren piped up, “There’s no Cale file in our cabinet. Someone has stolen it.”

“Cale is single if that what you want to know,” Kris added.

Mark chuckled lightly, “I know that Kris but I prefer for James to fall for someone who is in his league.”

“That’s why we both working hard on this,” Darren continued, “As a cupid yourself, you do know the big ritual right?”

“Yes, when the times come, I need to shoot the big arrow,” Kris answered quickly.

“I don’t want to shoot the arrow to the wrong person,” Mark pipped up, “I’ve done it once. I don’t want the same thing happen on James.”

Kris sighed silently. He still banters whether he should just say it or keep it as a secret.

He knew the stake that Mark mentioned just now.

Cale really care about James, that’s he knew for sure.

Maybe Cale care about James because they were working together.

The last time he was checking on Cale file, it was stated Cale as straight.

Knowing Cale, he’s definitely not like any guy he friend of.

Cale maybe rich but he’s not a womanizer.

It’s very rare to see him walking around with some girls on his side.

“Mark, have you seen James?” Darren broke the silence that had been holding between the three of them.

“They both are on the dancefloor,” A soft sighed escaped from Kris as he watched the dancefloor.

“Let’s go,” Darren started to walk off.

“Where?” Mark questioned curiously.

“To the dancefloor. You’re going to distract Cale while I’m going to pull James away from him.”

“Sounds like a good plan to me. Come on.”

Kris threw his towel to the table as he sighed to himself.

These two baboons will blow up his operation.

“That sound harsh to me,” Kris voiced out, “Let them have some fun, will you?”

“It may be fun for you,” Mark shot a death glare back to Kris, “But not for me.”

“You guys want to know if Cale has any feeling for James, right?” Kris shot back.

“A dance will not give me the answer, Kris,” Mark fired back.

“That’s what you said, but not in my case.” Kris laughed lightly, tried to sooth down the tension that had been growing.

“Mark,” Darren patted his friend lightly, “Come on. If Cale tried to make James uncomfortable, we will break them apart.”

Mark shot another glare toward Kris before he was disappeared with Darren into the crowd.

“Cale, wait,” James looked around to his side before he looked back on Cale, “I don’t know how to dance.”

Cale smiled a little before he stood behind James, “I’m going to put my hand on your hip. Then sway according to my direction, okay?”

James nodded lightly and he saw Cale’s hand on his hip, another one on his waist swaying to the music.

He was almost into the crowd when he felt Cale was tightening his hold around the waist.

“Relax,” Cale murmured lightly, brushing his beard to the side of James head.

For a while, James swore he forgot how to breathe.

Between his heart racing and the sweet scene that came from Cale, he hard to focus what’s going around him anymore.

Looks like Cale did not making it any easier either as his hand that was originally on his hip was drawing closed to his zipper.

“Shit,” James screamed inside his head, “Cale can’t know that I’m… I’m…”

James quickly broke off the embrace only to find Cale sneak the other way around.

This only brought James face directly toward Cale.

They almost touch each other face, if not James who pushed Cale a little.

“Cale,” James spoke silently.

Cale was staring at him blankly before he leaned closely and whispered, “You’re hard. I can feel it.”

Mark and Darren stood at the side watching the interaction between James and Cale.

“That’s it,” Mark snapped out of blue and stormed out, “I’m going to drag James away from that bastard.”

“Mark calm down.” Darren pulled his friend back to their spot.

“You want me to calm down?” Mark huffed angrily, “Cale was practically molesting my boy.”

“You look into this way too deep,” Darren sighed, “They’re just dancing together.”

“They already stop for about a minute Darren,” Mark hissed, “It’s time to break them apart.”

His eyes almost popped out when Cale leaned closely to James.

“How nerve that boy. I will teach him a lesson,” Mark stormed again before Darren could stop him.

Luckily Darren was faster.

“And nothing happen,” Darren pulled Mark away when Cale done whispering to James.

“Mark, calm down will you,” Darren patted his friend a little, “You’re going to blow this cover if you’re not calming down.”

“You don’t understand,” Mark spit out his anger.

He was gritting his teeth tightly watching Cale was staring into James.

They both had stopped dancing for a while.

“Mark,” Darren continued, “I care about James just as much as you do, but we can’t blow our cover.”

“Have you ever thought the consequences if Cale just kiss James out of blue?” Mark spat back.

Darren watched his friend disbelief.

Why on earth Mark will think that much?

“Stopping James from being too close from Cale will not solve our case either,” Darren calmly answered.

“Come on, looks like they both getting ready to go home,” Darren pipped up, pulling Mark along with him.

“Hey guys,” Kris grinned widely when he saw Cale and James coming back to the table.

“Did you guys have fun out there?” Kris shot a glance toward James before he shot another glance toward Cale.

It worried Kris a little when James was being quite.

There’s a faint of blushed on James face when Cale broke the silence.

“Yeah we are. James not feeling well,” Cale continued, “I think I’m going to drive him home.”

Kris dumbfounded, “Oh. Well I hope you will feel better after getting some sleep.”

“See you around, Kris,” Cale took James with him before Kris could say any word.

Kris watched the guys before they disappeared behind the close door.
