cupcake update

I was working on ideas to do with a fishing pole made of pretzel sticks and swedish fish with sayings like "You're quite a catch" and "I'm hooked on you" but I am afraid that is a bit over the head of preschoolers. I had to explain it to my gifted first grader. So now I am thinking of falling back on an oldie but goodie. "Bee my Valentine" cupcakes wouldn't bee too difficult. I was thinking chocolate dipped cookies and those vanilla ring cookies each cut in half and stood up tal ways would make a nice 3D Bee and I could even use marshmallows cut in half for the wings ... could even be called "Love Bugs" if it got to hard to explain. Any reasonable objections to this? Any better suggestions?

I worked on Thomas's valentine mailbox today. Four year olds make their own, threes get their mama's to make them. I was afraid it would be to girly. Valentines is very feminine. So we used the box that sandwich bags come in so it has a lift up top. That turned out well. Covered it in blue construction paper to make it manly. Then we covered it in stickers we had that seemed manly. It has one Power ranger side, one puppy side, one side covered in lizards. We gave into demand and covered one small side in care bears just cause he likes them even if they are girly. The top lid has sparkly bugs and says Thomas Khanh Phan, Love Bug. The inside lid is covered in My Little Ponys since that was his true favorite. He was only sad we didn't have any Serendipity since thats his favorite.

So now I just need to go out and get the valentines cards and tooth brushes that have become the tradition for me to give them. I honestly wonder if Vang will do anything or if he believes forgetting my birthday has set a new precedent and nothing is expected of him for future holidays. He would be wrong of course but I wonder if he thinks this . . .
