Apparently this whole Daddy works six days a week thing has been harder on the kids than we thought. Shock. This morning all the kids were clingy and not wanting him to go until the last minute. So he agreed to drive ViVi to school so they could all spend an extra twenty minutes usually taken up by walking to and from school. So he gives last kisses and final hugs and makes it out he door with ViVi in tow, looking mighty cocky for having been the only one "choosen" to leave with the prize.
Immediately Thomas bursts into tears. Now he is a bit whiney sometimes but he rarely cries for real. He is the master of crocodile tears but he can turn those on and off at will like no actor on earth. Tom Cruz eat your heart out. He runs to the window shouting "Don't go Daddy! No NOOOO! I want Daddy!"
When thier car pulls away he dries up the tears but stomps over to me and asks in his most petulant voice "Why Vivi get her Known Daddy?"
Huh? Her Known Daddy?
"I mant My Known Daddy too!"
What the . . .I speak fluent gibberish but this took me a minute to figure out .. . did you get it yet?
Translation: "I want Daddy alone too."
I almost cried for him. That was pricelessly pitiful.
His other new favorite saying which kinda sorta fits in here. He always has been the king of pouty lips, the prince of dramatic scenes, (second only to Sydney Li crowned ruler of all things dramatic), and the biggest pity hog ever born. When he gets told no or denied something he wants he will lay his head down on his arms and say. "Ok, Mama. But I sad. sniff." This has extended to include "I not little sad. I big sad. Sniff sniff."
