I agree. Unless someone really holds my interest, once I have them, I'm done. I'm one of those "thrill of the chase" types of people. Once I have someone, I don't want them anymore -- unless they have some higher emotional connection with me. I get bored easily so this is hard to do. Just my own personal perspective.

"What we all want, what we all need, is someone who can be an extension of ourselves. On an emotional level, each and every one of us feels empty. It is believed that by finding someone who is truely your "soul mate", such a void is filled."

I've always told people "I can't wait until I'm in love" and what you said is exactly what I've THOUGHT for a long time, just couldn't put it in to words. Sometimes, When I complain that I'm lonely, it's usually just an incredible...want/need...to fill the "void". I think the older you get, the more you realize that it's there.

I don't know. Relationships are just confusing in general.

I'd agree in that in our wonderful American society almost every guy/girl is lying to another girl for the mere fact they aren't truly aware of their own agendas when they're talking to them. Most people simply don't question their existence or why they're performing actions or why they think they want someone with certain qualities.

Dating and courtship rituals exist almost like the rites of religion. While much more unwritten, so many people follow them blindly, and always accept things "just because." That's if they even bother reflecting on themselves, as most people rarely think about their own actions and will overanalyse others.

I hope I'm not that way and am just oblivious, I'd like to believe I'm somewhat more.
