Last week, myself and four friends did the Dr. Schulze's 5-day detox. I am so happy to be done with garlic and orange juice for breakfast! On this cleanse diet, we juiced and ate a lot of raw, vegan foods. I made an almond paste, coconut butter drop cookie that was pretty tasty. I also bought a book on raw foods (12 Steps to Raw Food). Aside from being a bit sermonized for my taste, the author of the book had a lot of good things to say about a raw food diet.  I've decided that I'm going to incorporate more raw food into my days.  Juicing fruits for the cleanse was messy and time consuming; I also felt like it wasted a good portion of the fruit.  Smoothies, on the other hand, use just about everything and are very fast.  Today, I ordered a Vitamix blender after doing a bunch of review-reading online.  It will probably be a couple weeks before it gets here, but I'm totally excited and am already planning what the first thing I'll make in it will be.  I'm thinking margaritas.
