Bad Decision Dinosaur
I'm starting to get e-mails from local venues regarding SXSW (like Schubas sponsoring this magical free show with Rural Alberta Advantage, Maps and Atlases, We Are Scientists, We Were Promised Jetpacks, and other worthwhile bands) and I'm seriously starting to do the math for driving to Austin and going to free shows and maybe staying at a Red Roof Inn or something.
At this point, gas and the Red Roof are the costly bits. Anyone want to jump onboard for an improptu road trip to Austin in March? I'm estimating gas at about $180 round trip, and I found a hotel for $40/night on Priceline. Rumor is wristbands are $180 per person and you can buy them when you get there.
