yea, i'll prolly end up posting some entries on things that i've written. I don't know why, just will.
I was looking through my files on my computer, and I came across this, that I wrote at the beginning of this year for Creative Writing. And I really like it, because it's so true, and it's things I need to focus on more often.
The Little Things
It's the larger things in life that people count on to be blissful,
Yet sometimes its the little things that bring us more joy.
We tend to overlook these small little wonders
Because we walk to fast to have time to enjoy
If we could just take a minute or two
Out of our busy and hectic days,
We could find all these little things
That could brighten up our lives in so many ways.
I love the way my pillow feels ten times softer when I am weary.
The buzzing sound of bees cheers me up, even if I'm feeling dreary.
At the end of the day, when my backpack is feeling quite light,
Knowing that means no homework, brings me great delight.
I love the sound of the ocean waves, coming to greet the shore.
and waking up at 6 o'clock on a Saturday and realizing you can sleep in, is the greatest feeling of all.
The friendly smile you get from the boy of your dreams,
and all your peers reaction as the end of school bell rings.
The warm feeling of hot tea running down the back of my throat,
like a skiier swiftly moving down a steep slope.
I love the vibrations of my cell phone as it rings in my pocket,
and I love trying to guess who the mystery caller could be.
The anticipation before you take that first bite into your favorite food,
your expectations always being so high, and it never coming out as good.
When my favorite song comes on the radio,
I love turning it up all the way and singing along.
Going to a your English class where a substitute takes your teachers place,
Walking about in the mall and unexpectedly seeing a familiar face.
The pitter patter of your heart as you think about that one particular guy,
and laying on the grass watching the clouds pass in the sky.
Picking up your pictures, freshly developed
Laying with piles of blankets on top of you, tightly enveloped.
I love even the simplest things such as talking to your best friend on the phone
cause you know she can make you laugh til you cry.
These are the little things in life that I could not live without.
So next time you are down, or feeling in doubt,
Slow down a bit, and focus on the little things that may bring a smile to your face.
Don't rush through life, and ignore the world around.
For your happiest moments may come from those things you see, when you're staring at the ground.
