Whatever is over now.

I slept way too hard last night. I can't even remember any dreams.

There's a lot on my to-do list, but first I am lying in bed with In the Valley of Dying Stars because I haven't done that in a while.

Also, I plan on finally learning once and for all how to use lie/lay in the various past tenses and present progressive. Hmph.

The Chuck Close exhibit was amazing. I can't really explain why, but I loved it muchly. Missy was a good museum partner (seriously, why do I keep typing museum like nauseam with an m?!), but I wish I wasn't the only person I knew who has to look at every single piece like I have the OC disorder (haha, Arrested Development joke no one will get). I have a bad habit of looking at paintings like they are sculptures, trying to see them from every angle and pressing my face to the side of the wall to look the textures from the edgeview... I think some folks were confused by me. There were many attractive museum boys with girlfriends. Kiki Smith's art was more than slightly disturbing. I could tell some of the guys especially were discomfited. We only briefly toured her galleries because we were getting ferociously hungry. They were two impulses at odds with each other. I had no problem with downing my baby-sized Chipotle afterward though. Mmmm. God, there were babies everywhere. Adorable babies with hip, young parents. I wanted to squish them all; they were so round and little, noisy and lovable.

I'm going back soon so I can see the rest.

In tribute to my girl-not-boy resolutions, I bought an eyeliner and two eyeshadows at Walgreens when picking up a new toothbrush and stuff. All three in shades of green. When will this green phase end? It will add something new to my makeup though, which was previously all blue or black. I tried purple eyeliner once but it was an unflattering shade that just made me look kind of bruised. Then went to Borders so Missy could research Germany for Shelley. I sat with her and read "Brokeback Mountain" while hiding the cover with the two actors because that was embarrassing. It was a good read though. Then I wandered around the children's section, because that's where it's at... Maybe I should be one of those hermits who secretly live at Borders. Or, you know, a librarian.

I've identified that I sometimes type "when" for "went" (and occasionally vice versa) and "worse" for "worst" if I don't pay attention. These are new. As always, keeping an eye on "accidently" for "accidentally" and "occassionally" for "occasionally." Finger memories confounded.

I have also determined, from the three songs I've heard, that I like We Are Scientists:
73% because of their name;
13% for how the singer sings (despite the fake accent) parts of "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt";
7% for the weird curl the singer has in his hair;
3% for the dude who kind of looks like Ted from the Shout Out Louds;
3% for the other dude's moustache...
so that leaves 1 percentage point* for the music? Ha.

*except I'm pretty sure that 1% is devoted to the cats.
