yup, exactly!! (Readers who pick up on the small details make me happy \o/)

Basically, Lay told Baekhyun ahead of time that he would be trolling Kai (ie, telling Kai that he's with Luhan when he isn't). So, before the sleepover, Baekhyun hid a secret camera in the living room to catch Kai's panic attack on video so that Lay can see it in full glory haha.

But that's too simple; Lay wanted to make Kai really flip out (because Kai's cute when he's mad lol). This is why you see Baekhyun being the main instigator and getting Kai's phone/bringing up the topic of intragroup relationships/etc so that eeeeeeverybody in K learns that Lay is 'cheating' on him with Luhan. So, yes, Baekhyun knew Kai was texting Lay.

I'm sorry this is so confusing, I probably should have just taken that part out altogether OTL

And yup Kai and Lay are pretty much in an established relationship in this universe. Only Suho is oblivious to everything XD

Kai did pretty much freak out about everything. Oh Lay. You evil little unicorn. I can just imagine that sweet innocent smile on his face! LOL. Now I love your LayLu besties! Cause Lay can be a douche. LOL.

Suho is a grandpa. And he will be forever. OH! Last question. what exactly did Luhan do at the end? o.O

sob, thank you for your kind words ;~; I have more kailay fics in the works; I love this otp too much. But this is probably the last time I'm going to write such a crack-ish fic lol

At the end, Luhan says he's doing "damage control." I left it up to the reader to decide exactly how Luhan is trying to limit the damage Lay has caused, but Luhan's most likely texting Kai at the end of the story. Remember that at the end of the story, Kai still thinks Luhan is the one behind the "I'm busy" texts (because that's what Lay claimed). Luhan has to tell Kai that it was really Lay who sent those texts if he wants to save himself from Kai's wrath XD

So there's a double purpose behind the title "Damage Control." Kai tries (but fails) to do damage control when Baekhyun/Chanyeol/D.O/Sehun get their hands on his cell phone; and now Luhan needs to do some damage control before Kai kills him lol.

BUT CRACKFICS MAKE MY LIFEEEEE although. i prefer crackfics with Sehun and Kai as mains(because idiot and asshole SeKai brings joy to my life) while Kai and Lay just have something else working for me. a little bit more serious. but lkasjdlks asshole!Lay is the best and he should definitely troll his boyfriend and best friend more often.

Sekai is a really interesting ship too -- but they're more of a brotp for me. kaixing is definitely my #1 ship for both Kai and Lay! Lay just loves to tease (as we can see in M's interviews!), and his bf would of course be a frequent target lol~

When I was writing this fic, what I had in mind was that Kai and Lay were clearly in a relationship -- but not like Kai and Lay went around shouting to everybody "we're going out now! we're a couple now!" Anybody who just looked at them would know they were in a relationship; it's just that poor Suho is oblivious and so he was the only one who didn't notice lol. But since Kai and Lay don't go around advertising their relationship (although Kai's pining for Lay should be a huge giveaway lol), how serious/far the relationship is remains a mystery to the other members. Hence, you see D.O betting that the couple hogging the dorm's bathroom late at night wasn't Kai and Lay, while Chanyeol was confident enough in his speculation that Kai and Lay's relationship really was that far developed to bet that it was.

In this universe, I can totally imagine the other members whispering, "so, how far do you think they've gone??" when Kai and Lay's backs are turned haha.

Sehun cracks me up so much because he always gets caught on camera like he has the brattiest maknae attitude lol. (Of course, I don't think he always acts like this irl...)

I can write crack/comedy fics but it needs to be done with my partner. If you leave me alone, everything becomes fluff. LOLOLOL. i can't write angst for shit!

All I read are Kai pairings. I can't read any other fanfictions. Sad life b/c my favorite pairings aren't popular among fanfiction writers which are TaeKai and LayKai (now you know why i love your stories??; AAA ; --no one ships them hard enough to write this much! LOLOLOL i'm being dramatic, but yeah...) and SeKai--which would be the most popular from my 3 ships, so... .__.

Lay and Kai... are like so different from when they are in interviews and when they are performing on stage that I really think Lay can be deceiving and conniving with that innocent face of his while Kai doesn't act sexy at all irl, and i just a sweetheart and an can be a lovable awkward turtle like the rest of us. so i can totally imagine Kai being that jealous boyfriend, wrapped around Yixing's dainty little finger... but Yixing still loves him a lot. he just likes to troll. because he can and can get away with it.

oh wow, the guys. i love them just all of them are preciouds. but tbqh, i really love Chanyeol here. (was reading the story again) his dialogues are prob some of my favorite (aside from princess Sehun, ofc.)!

I agree; Kai isn't the "sexy" image that he puts on stage. Off-stage, he's a really sweet, innocent boy who's a little childish and very awkward lol. Lay is incredibly sweet too but he's not as kiddish as Kai; plus he likes to have fun teasing the other members.

As for the M members in this fanfic, I would imagine that they have the same sort of reaction to Lay and Kai's relationship as the K members. I feel like Luhan would be the one to say "Ha! I knew it!" because he's Lay's best friend. Like I said, Lay and Kai's relationship in this fanfic is like a big open secret -- everybody (except poor Suho) knows about it but they don't know the details, and the M members are no exception.

LOOOOL I do. But very little. I can't finish things. Huhu. I'm currently working on a chaptered TaeKai one. (which reminds me I should continue writing...) and I have a crackfic Beast fanfic I write with my partner. But since she's all the way across the world, and we can't write when we're separated, the story hasn't been touched for over a year. ; AAA ;

Oh, yes, what you said about Luhan would be totally plausible and in-character for this fanfic too! You can imagine Luhan discovering their relationship however you'd like -- it doesn't really change the meaning or the plot of this fic -- I was just suggesting an idea lol.

the characters' personalities aren't canon, but it's so fun to read. It's one of my favorite KaiLay stories. (tbh, all KaiLay are my favorites. how little there is xD) i got so into the story i`m now friends with the author.

LayHan is my BROtp. i get such best friend-y vibes from them.
