I was hustling to the PATH this morning, along with the normal giant aggressive throng of daily commuters, when a thin homeless man stumbled through the crowd holding an unlit cigarette over his head and very quietly sang the chorus of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears. No one appeared to notice him. I almost turned around and went back home.
