Game Over [Memory on Video View]
[There's a flash of white light and then... it becomes clear the owner is not in Tartarus at all. Instead Junpei is tucked into a hospital bed, a red-haired girl in a white lolita dress outfit is holding his hand as he wakes up.]
I'm so happy you're awake...
[Junpei sits up and, oddly enough, he's in his full school uniform as the bedsheets are shoved down.]
Chidori? [He looks down and around, confused.] Huh? I-I thought I was...
I... I was wrong. [Chidori takes his hand in hers.] I was scared and I blamed you for my heartache. I never felt that way before I met you, Junpei... And for the first time in my life I... I realized what I wanted.
[He sounds hesitant but almost hopeful, like he can't believe what is happening.] And, what is that?
I.. I want to be with you, Junpei, forever.
[Junpei's face brightens, his eyes wide.] I, um, I... I want to be with you, too...
But it could never last. I'm different from you. Since the moment I gained my power I've known the day I'm going to die. Knowing that scared me because I had never really thought about dying and it made me realize that I wouldn't be with you anymore.
Chidori... [He lifts their hands and smiles. Junpei looks as if he's ready to assure her they'll find a way.]
That's why this is how it should be. You can't die here, Junpei.
Die? [His eyes widen again.] Huh?!
[The light fades and they're no longer in the hospital room. Chidori is glowing with a yellow energy around her as Junpei gasps his first breath of life. Faintly Junpei's name can be heard but all he's focused on is the red-haired angel above him.]
It worked. [Junpei stares and, as the energy around Chidori fades, he catches her as she falls into his lap.] I can hear the life pulsing through you. [She giggles and Junpei pulls her close, confused.] Now I will live inside you and we'll be together. Forever.
What? What are you saying? Chidori... Chidori!
I'll protect you Junpei, always.
I-I'll protect you too! Please! Don't go!
It feels so nice to be with you.
Chidori! [Tears are running down his cheek and she wipes them away.]
Thank you... Jun.. pei... I love you... [Smiling, her head falls back and her hand hits the ground. Junpei stares at the body in his arms in shock, crying.
Then the show is cut off.]
