[She sits on the forest floor, back against a tree. There's blood caked on her skin, she's been here a while. The body of the creature it came from is motionless a few feet away from her.]
What the hell's the matter with you?
[The voice inside her remains silent. She doesn't ask again. This is the way things are now. An inappropriate joke here, an unhelpful answer to a question there. It's been like that for months. Only now he projects nothing but uneasiness to her. As though he's always about to say something, but never does. It's irritating, a piece of food stuck in the back of her throat.
She closes her eyes. It takes some time before she starts to doze off.]
You're killin' me, Sunshine.
[His tone throws her off more than the words. She's never heard him sound so pathetic before.]
Sorry.
[He doesn't say what this is about, but she knows. His selfishness is nothing new to her.]
Don't lie to me. You're not sorry at all.
[No, but she's sorry that she asked. She's listening to a child, and it makes her uncomfortable.]
I made you the way you are.
[A pause.]
Are you apologizing?
[He doesn't respond at first. Maybe he is apologizing.]
It's just that... you and me, we're the same.
[Right. It's not like she can forget that she's a freak. She's covered in old blood, sitting right next to the carcass she tore apart. She can't even pretend to be normal. It bothers her less than it used to. But even if that part of her is still the same, something else in her has been shifting for a long while.]
Nothing you do in this dump matters. When we go back, when we're free from that door, we'll be back to where we were.
[That strikes a nerve. It's not that she thinks he's right. He's reminiscing about a much earlier time. If she does somehow go home and she get released, Nier's the one that originally set her on this path.
But it's the leaving people behind part that makes her chuck a sword at the body in front of her. It goes wild, misses the target, and ends up stuck straight into a tree trunk across from her. She draws her knees up, wrapping her arms around her legs. It's leaving behind someone that can't go home because of her. She expects him to gloat, but he doesn't.
He says nothing else.]
[OOC: Italics are Tyrann. As usual, it looks like she's talking to herself]
