When he'd asked her to meet him on the ground floor, and told her to dress nicely, she'd thought it was an exceptionally odd request, especially considering all that had happened recently. She hadn't protested though, she was rather surprised he wanted to speak to her at all after seeing her as he had a short time ago. It was surprising that either of them were okay with each other with the things that had happened, first Valentines Day and then her wounds reopening from her Master's attack. It was easy for her to move on from Valentine's Day, that had hardly actually been Remy. It was this place, nothing more. There was no reason to hold what this place had made him do against him and she trusted him enough to know that he'd never do things like that without outside influence.There was also no reason for her to avoid him, except that she was still rather humiliated about the entire thing. That was no reason to deny his invitation

He flashed his trademark smirk and reached out, taking her hand and raising it to his lips, brushing them across her knuckles. "Enchante, mon chere. Je n'ai jamais pu comparer à votre beauté." Most people would say it was over the top, but for Remy a little too much was just enough. "I'm glad you came."

She laughed lightly at his statement. "Dashing and flattering, a deadly combination." She smirked. "Who am I to turn down such a nice invitation?"

"I only slay hearts, mon chere. Dat I guarantee." He laced his fingers through hers, leading her inside the building and to the elevator. "It wouldn' be very polite, Ivy, sho' nuff."

"I'm glad you don't slay other things, I'd have to be a bit offended." She was smiling though as she squeezed his hand gently. "I do always try to be polite. Try being the keyword."

He laughed as he pressed the button for the top floor. They'd have to take the stairs to the roof. "Manners are confinin' sometimes, mon chere. Some rules are made to be broken, non?"

"Sometimes they need to be bent just a bit." She had a slightly mischievous smirk on her face.

"Or a lot, but dat's jus' semantics." He lead her to the stairs on the top floor, holding the door to the roof open for her. The table wasn't far from the door, lit by soft candlelight. He closed the door behind her, then moved to the table, holding out the chair. "I hope yo' hungry, Ivy."

"I am." It wasn't exactly true, she hadn't had a very large appetite since the event, but she wasn't going to tell him that. Not after he'd clearly gone to so much trouble. She smiled as she sat down, looking at the table he'd set up for them. "I'm impressed. Though, I can't help but wonder what the special occasion is. "

He continued to smile, glad she seemed to be enjoying herself, even if it was only a bit. After she'd taken a seat, he went to his stash, the kerosene burners he'd set up to keep the food warm while he waited for her, and got the soup and salad he'd prepared for an opening course, filling a glass of water, first for her, then his own, then took his own seat. "You, mon chere. Good enough occasion fo' me."

"You've really gone all out, haven't you?" It was nice that someone had done something this elaborate all for her, especially after all that had happened. Nice and yet also extremely unexpected. She still couldn't understand why he was doing this, or how he could even look at her after seeing her so pathetic, broken, and well...disgusting. How could he look at her with any sort of attraction after having seen her throwing up blood and covered in it? It wasn't something she could understand at all.

She chuckled at his answer. "Me? After all that's happened that seems like a silly occasion for you to go to all this trouble for."

"Yo' worth it, mon chere, an' a lot more." He smiled fondly at her. He'd expected such a reaction from her, but it still amused him. After all he'd learned of her recently, he understood why she would feel that way about herself, and he'd made it his goal to change that. "Den I reckon I'm silly."

"That's nice of you to say." She didn't particularly agree with the sentiment, but she knew that, for some reason, he felt that way. It was baffling but she wasn't going to question it, she didn't want to ruin the night with some sort of pointless argument around her self-esteem. "I guess I'll have to add silly to the list of things you are then. It's getting to be a very long list."

A mischievious smirk toyed at the corners of his mouth. "Tell me, Ivy. When did I ever say I was simple?"

She laughed. "Luckily for you I like complicated men, they're much more interesting."

"I do my best, mon chere." It had been a long time since he'd felt this, well, happy and content to just share light conversation over dinner. It was nice, and he couldn't think of anyone else he'd rather be sharing the table with. There was a darkness far in the back of his mind reminding him that this was too good to be true and that he should run while he could still protect them both, but he ignored it. Paranoia was simply that, worrying over nothing.

"I can' t'ink of anybody else I'd wanna be sharin' dis dinner with, neither."
