He'd had Valentine's Day all planned out in advance. It had taken him a month to acknowledge his feelings for Ivy, and another to work up the gumption to actually say it to her. His track record after admitting strong feelings for any woman has always been disasterous, and he had no intention of ruining things with Ivy, but he also felt secure enough in admitting his feelings for her. And what day of the year was better for things like that?
The Underworld had had different plans. Remy was a master of rolling with the punches, though, so he wasn't going to let that minor setback get in his way. It had gotten worse when everything her master had done to her and happened again. He knew she still wasn't okay, even after healing. Some wounds couldn't be erased, even with strange Underworld magic. He was taking a chance hoping that this evening, a romantic dinner on a rooftop, would help her, but risky manuvers were his bread and butter.
It was a simple but elegant spread: broiled flounder on a bed of rice pilaf, white wine. The table was set with a white cloth, roses as a center piece in a clear glass bowl rather than a vase, and white pillar candles. He'd told Ivy to meet him at the ground floor, and he donned a nice suit and headed down early. It wouldn't do to make his date wait. Not tonight.
