I've been experiencing strange discomfort lately on my right side underneath the ribcage towards the back. I wouldn't call it pain, it's just discomfort and it's difficult to describe. Well, I already drink a lot of water. That's been my only consistent healthy practice for oh...about 7 years I think. I don't drink soda or anything {unless it has liquor in it, of course}. I also drink a lot of water when I drink alcohol which helps fend off dehydration but is also supposed to fend off some of the intoxication which may be a contributing factor in my drinking more. I went and bought some chamomile tea when I got off work tonight and picked up some other all natural snacks because that should help minimize the toxins and help my liver rest a bit I would hope.

If I can manage to abstain for a little while then I can test to see if that is, indeed, the cause of discomfort. That will be the difficult part. That's my greatest weakness in life: substance abuse. I've cut out all the other drugs I've used in the past years aside from occasionally {once every week or two} smoking pot socially. Quitting other drugs was tremendously difficult for me. Alcohol is my last demon to be conquered. So, we'll see how that goes. But it's pretty damn hard to sit there holding your side around the region where your liver is WHILE drinking and not feel horribly pathetic. Umm...so there's that to help me out.

Cheers!
