Author's Note: This is kind of long, and all the song titles I'm using are connected, and each one can kind of stand alone. I'm just too lazy to think up separate titles, so I'm grouping them all under one.
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters of Supernatural. They're owned by the CW. However, any and all original characters are mine, so please do not use them without my permission.
Part 1 |
Part 2 When Anna woke up the next morning, she was alone. She didn’t remember much from the night before. In fact, she barely remembered anything, with the exception getting caught in the devil’s trap. But as for how she got out and what happened to the people who put her there, she was drawing a blank, and that wasn’t good. Usually when she blacked out like that, she hurt someone without really intending to. She prayed for a minute that she hadn’t seriously hurt anyone, and was starting to climb out of bed before Dean appeared in the doorway.
She gave him a hesitant smile, and he just looked at her, blinking for a minute, before looking away. “Sam and I are headin’ out on the road for a little bit.”
She frowned, a bit stung by the response she was getting. “Got a hunt?”
“Possibly,” Dean replied. “Bobby said he had something that might be worth looking into.”
“I’ll come with,” she offered, and he flinched at that.
“Might not be a good idea right now,” he said slowly. “You had a rough night.”
“Dean, I feel fine,” she said, giving him a look. “What the hell is going on?”
“Nothing,” he lied. “Nothing’s going on, I just want you to-ya know-take it easy.”
“Take it easy? What happened last night?” There was a long silence, and when she didn’t answer, her face collapsed slightly. “Dean, what did I do?” she asked quietly.
“Nothing,” he replied, quickly, actually looking her in the eye this time. “Nothing, you didn’t do anything. It’s just-”
“Then what happened? I know I got stuck in the devil’s trap and-” Suddenly her voice trailed off and her eyes went wide. “Oh my God-I’m not a-” He didn’t answer, looking away from her again and she closed her eyes burying her face in her hands. “Fuck.”
Dean cringed slightly before heading back over to her, crouching down in front of her. “No, no, c’mon. It’s not that bad alright.”
She looked up at him and studied his face, looking for an answer. “But I am a-”
“Yeah,” he nodded slowly. “Yeah, you are.”
“So what did you do?” she asked. “Did you exorcise it or what?”
He hesitated, his hands landing on her thighs. “It’s not that simple. Nate and them-they can explain it better.”
“So I’m still a-”
“Yeah.”
“And you’re leaving.” She saw the conflict on his face, and she shut off, pulling away from him. “Lemme guess-it’s not that simple.”
“Anna-” he began.
“No, no-it’s cool,” she said, pulling away from him and moving towards her closet. “You should go, you don’t want to lose any time on that hunt.”
“Anna, it’s not like that.”
“Just go, Dean,” she sighed. “I get it. Really. Just-go.”
He watched her for a minute before doing as she asked, picking up his bag and heading out the door. She turned just as he left, watching as his shoulders disappeared down the hall and not saying a word.

Sam felt Jenny catch his wrist and he sighed heavily before turning to face her, “Can we not do this again, please?”
“I just don’t understand why you’re leaving with him.”
“He’s my brother, Jen,” he sighed. “What do you expect me to do?”
“I expect you to try and smack some sense into him.”
“He needs some space,” Sam sighed. “Just-let him have his space.”
“He’s really being an ass about this,” she replied, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “And he should be here trying to help her instead of running off to Bobby.”
“He’s handling this the best way he knows how.”
“The best way for him.”
“Jen-trust me on this, alright? He’ll come around.”
“Better come around soon before it’s too late.”
“I know,” he nodded.
“Ya comin’, Sammy?” Dean shouted back from the car.
“Yeah,” Sam shouted back, before turning back to her and pulling her in for a quick kiss. “Bye, Jen.”
“Bye,” she murmured as he pulled back. “I’m still mad at you for going with him.”
“Yeah, I know,” he replied, before turning and jogging down the stairs to the Impala. He walked over to his brother and held out his hand.
“What?” Dean frowned.
“You’ve been up all night, like hell I’m letting you drive.”
“Fine,” Dean replied before coughing up the keys. He walked around to the passenger’s side, and once they were both settled in, Sam turned on the car and started to drive. Once they were a few miles out, he glanced over at his brother.
“You know they pretty much hate you now, right?”
“Yeah, I know,” Dean sighed. “I’m not too big on myself right now either.”
“It’s not too late to-”
“No, Sam-just-let it go, alright?” Dean sighed, before shifting in his seat slightly. “Let me know when it’s my turn to drive.”
