Some ideas that may not be connected. Or they may.
It seems sometimes like I have a very event-driven life, and the only time I usually see people is in association with some project or other. When I get down time, I usually spend it alone. I'm not entirely sure that's how I want things to be.
It's been really nice being able to get things done all of these August/September weekends, and I think most of that time has been put to good use. Yes, I've missed spending days surrounded by large groups of my beautiful genius friends, but I haven't missed being out at Festival. At all.
The career-change motivation has been mostly inspired by that "I've been here too long" feeling, but it's also worth mentioning that the company I work for was recently acquired by a much larger company (assuming tonight's stockholder vote goes as planned). That may not have any kind of impact on my next few months, or I could be unemployed next week.
A paraphrased quote from an old website of mine: "The world is an interesting and exciting place. This simple truth provides all of the justification we need for our quest to gain complete global domination with the help of our undead legions."
Really, scheduling for me is a problem of saturation. It's not that I couldn't find another hour or two in any given day, it's more like I can only dissolve so much in the fluid of one day, and once I've reached that saturation point ain't nothin' else going in. (Experiments with increased heat and supersaturation have generally gone poorly.)
It probably doesn't help the state of the world that writing from the viewpoint of extreme bias can be a whole lot of fun.
Cooperation is only possible with the cooperative. A fully cooperative system has to eliminate competitive elements. Essentially, the cooperation meme is in competition with the competition meme. This is the problem of duality.
A connection exists between gematria and kenning.
There's a certain chunk of wisdom that basically boils down to, "To do what you love to do, you have to do what you love to do."
